Where ARE we?
The HOTEL MODERNO is situated in the heart of Madrid, at the Puerta del Sol.
Close to the hotel, our guests will encounter Madrid's best shopping area, where they can enjoy the numerous stores on Preciados, Carmen and Arenal Street as well as the Corte Inglés.
Likewise, the hotel is located in the heart of historical Madrid (The Plaza Mayor, 'el Madrid de los Austrias'). It is surrounded by the city's most famous monuments (The Royal Palace, the Royal Theatre, the Parliament, the Senate, etc...) and Madrid's most cosmopolitan places (Prado Museum, Thyssen Museum, Reina Sofía Museum, etc...). All these places are just a few minutes' walk from the hotel.

How to arrive from the airport ?
By METRO:
- It's the most recommended method of transportation.
- It only takes about 30 minutes and the ticket (Sencillo Metro+Suplemento Aeropuerto) costs 2€.
- You have to take line 8 (pink) at the Airport until "Nuevos Ministerios". Once there, change to line 10 (dark blue) in the direction of "Puerta del Sur" until "Tribunal" station. At "Tribunal" station change to line 1 (light blue) in the direction of "Valdecarros" until "Sol" station. When you get off at "Sol" take the C/ Mayor exit. When you get out of the station and onto the street, the hotel is on your right hand side.

By BUS:
- From the T4: You can take the 204 bus which will take you to "Avenida de America". The ticket costs 1€ and takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at "Avenida de America" you will have to take the Metro to "Sol" station. First take line 4 (brown line) in the direction of "Arguelles" until Goya station. Once there change to line 2 (red line) in the direction of "Cuatro Caminos" until you arrive at "Sol" station. When you get off at "Sol" take the C/ Mayor exit. When you get out of the station and onto the street, the hotel is on your right hand side.
- From the T1-T2-T3: You can take the 200 bus which will take you to "Avenida de America". The ticket costs 1€ and takes about 25 minutes. Once you arrive at "Avenida de America" you will have to take the Metro to "Sol" station. See above instructions.
By TAXI:
- It takes about 25 minutes and costs around 30€.
- If you have any doubts about the fare you are being charged, do not pay and ask for assistance at the hotel reception desk.
