Puerta del Sol

The figure of the goddess and her chariot were sculpted by the artist Francisco Gutiérrez whereas the lions were sculpted by Roberto Michel.

Puerta de Alcalá
This monument is so important it even has its own song, written by Ana Belén and Víctor Manuel. It was built by Francisco Sabatini during the reign of King Carlos III and was inaugurated in 1778. - Sundays and holidays open only 10.00am – 3.00pm (ticket office and access open until 2.00pm).
- Closed Mondays.
