By | 16 August, 2018 | 0 comments

Everyone agrees that sunsets are one of the day’s most beautiful and romantic moments, something unique to enjoy with your partner, to take a great photograph and upload it to your Instagram account or to paint a memorable painting.

In Madrid, you can enjoy one of the world’s most amazing sunsets. Where? Write down the list of places below:

Moncloa Lighthouse

One of the places in the city which best embodies the expression “From Madrid to the sky”. Its origins go back to 1992, when the city was named European Capital of Culture. A panoramic elevator will take you up 300 ft. to the viewpoint, from where you can see some of the city’s most emblematic monuments such as the Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral.

Temple of Debod

This Egyptian temple which dates back to the 2nd century BC was donated by the Egyptian Government as a token of their gratitude for Spanish help in preventing flooding during the construction of the Aswan High Dam. However, few people know about the beautiful panoramic view you can see from this area in which the three emblematic silhouettes of Madrid’s skyline appear: the Royal Palace, Almudena Cathedral and the large dome of the Basilica of San Francisco el Grande, a unique view which became famous back in the day with the Spanish TV hit series Sin Tetas no hay Paraíso.

Cerro del Tío Pío Park

Popularly known as the park of “the seven breasts”, from here you can enjoy one of the best views of Madrid. It has many different heights and slopes as well as sprawling meadows. It is a great way to enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the city from one of the most popular green spaces in the Spanish capital.

Mirador Madrid

Mirador Madrid

One of Madrid’s most popular viewpoints, located on the eighth floor of Cibeles Palace, in the heart of the city. It has a 360º panoramic view of the Spanish capital, which is why it is considered as one of the best. However, we have some bad news: due to renovation works, it will remain closed until after the summer.

Dalieda de San Francisco

In the area of Vistillas, next to the Royal Basilica of San Francisco el Grande, is this botanical garden with over 700 dahlias. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the western part of the city.

Now that you have seen five different places from where you can enjoy a fantastic sunset and unique views of Madrid, which one is your favourite?
