If you consider yourself to be a real foodie, love uploading photos of your favourite dishes on your Instagram account and are eagerly waiting for the weekend so you can book a table in that restaurant everyone is talking about, congratulations because Gastrofestival 2018 has arrived in Madrid! If you don’t want to miss any of it, keep on reading this mouth-watering programme..

Up to 450 establishments and institutions will gather for this edition to bring locals and visitors one of the most varied menus in the world. From January 20 to February 4 you can enjoy special menus, gastronomic routes and cooking classes in many different restaurants, markets, cultural centres and even museums.

Regular sections such as Degustatapas and Nuestras Barras Favoritas (Our Favourite Bars) will also come back for this edition, as well as the section of gluten-free restaurants, which last year joined the party and enjoyed a fantastic reception from the public and critics.

Gastrofestival 2018 is divided into six official blocks, each just as delicious as the other: Gastrocultura, Sensorial Experiences, Gastrofashion, Oenoculture and Gastrohealth as well as the latest one, the Charity Gastrofestival (Gastrofestival Solidario), which aims to help people with limited resources.

Traditional sandwich lovers are in luck because Gastrofestival 2018 presents Gastrobocatas, a section that will feature the delicious sandwiches from El Porrón Canalla, by chef Juanjo López; and the sandwiches of John Barrita, created by Javi Estévez and made with bread from La Panotheca. Exquisite flavour for your taste buds!

Gastrofashion is one of this year’s most innovative features since it will focus on the GastroDeco section and on the proposals of the Food&Crafts workshop, magnificent and original homemade ideas applied to cooking and tasting with which you can surprise your guests at home.

In order not to miss out on any of the activities, head over to Centro Cultural Conde Duque, for BarrocoGlam cheese & wine,  a delicious cheese and wine tasting guided by real experts. Pure culinary glamour in the centre of Madrid.

Talking about food, it is important not to forget about the traditional local markets in Madrid because Gastrofestival 2018 also extends its activities to the following markets: Antón Martín, La Paz, Los Mostenses, San Enrique and Tirso de Molina. In all of them you can find different tastings and gastronomic workshops that will help you discover and appreciate the delicious local products. Are you hungry yet?
