The best craft beers in Madrid

By | 23 October, 2017 | 0 comments

In Madrid we love going out for a beer, so how could we not talk about Oktoberfest when the month of October comes around? Madrid Oktoberfest 2017 will be taking place from the 5th to the 7th of October at WiZink Center, an ode to Bavarian beer that you cannot miss.

This will be the fourth edition of Madrid’s version of Oktoberfest, inaugurated by Prince Luitpold of Bavaria himself. The first beer barrel will be opened by Spanish celebrity Mario Vaquerizo, a self-confessed beer fanatic.

If your schedule doesn’t allow you to visit the Salamanca district on these dates to enjoy a good beer, we have other options for you where you can try the best craft beers in Madrid. They might not come from Germany but we can guarantee that they are just as tasty or even more so.

Labirratorium
Is there anything more stimulating than tasting a good beer? Yes, making your own, which is what you can do at Labirratorium, on Calle Blasco de Garay, 21. Here, you can attend different courses that will show you how to make your own beer and latch on to the microbrewing trend, because at Labirratorium you can acquire all the utensils you need to make beer.

If to all of this you add some of the best craft beers in Madrid, all of them catalogued according to the different styles and brands, what more could you possibly ask for?

Cervezas La Virgen
One of the most popular craft beers in Madrid. With their headquarters in Las Rozas, they have no trouble organising guided tours so that beer fans can see how they brew the fantastic Madrid Lager or Madrid 360. Best of all, it includes an explanatory beer tasting at the end of the tour.

Madriz Hop Republic
On Calle Cardenal Cisneros, 21, you can find this brewery which prepares its own craft beers, inspired by Madrid’s most traditional side. In fact, each of its different beers has names associated to Madrid, such as Luchana, Arapiles, Chamberí… And so on up to 50 references that will make your beer-loving palate jump with joy.

La Tape
On this tour of the best craft beers in Madrid we could not omit La Tape, located on Calle San Bernardo, 88. Here, you can try craft beers from all over the world, including gluten-free ones. Another beer temple you have to visit is Irreale, on Calle Manuela Malasaña, 20, which has up to 50 varieties of bottled beer and 12 beers on tap at your disposal. Cheers!
