Activities to enjoy Madrid with children

By | 5 March, 2018 | 0 comments

March is already here and the weather has got a bit crazy. A few days of sun, a few days of rain and the cold is still here… With these temperatures, where can you go with children? Don’t worry about that because here are a few activities that you can enjoy in Madrid with children. Here we go!

Activities to enjoy Madrid with dinosaurs
The most spectacular dinosaurs arrive in Madrid with Dino Expo XXL and the whole family can enjoy it at the Palacio de Hielo on Calle Silvano. More than 100 real-size robot dinosaurs will welcome you and they look so real that you would expect them to run away! Among so many giant reptiles you cannot miss out on the Kids Zone, where the whole family can take photos, see films and search for authentic fossils in a giant sandpit. What are you waiting for to buy your tickets? However, the true objective of this fantastic exhibition is to promote the care and respect towards nature among young children.

Casa de Campo, a Madrid classic
If your children are not little anymore, then the best plan is to go to Hábitat Madrid. The City Council’s educational programme organises guided ornithological itineraries on bicycle around Casa de Campo. BiciAves is the ideal activity for kids of 14 years old or above who love cycling and nature, a tour which will allow them to discover the large variety of birds which live in this urban park and that they can see up close in person. They will love it! This is definitely one of the best activities to enjoy in Madrid with children.

Ringing birds in the Royal Botanical Garden

If your children loved the experience of identifying birds in Casa de Campo whilst riding a bicycle, they will love the bird ringing activity which they can take part in starting on March 10 in the Royal Botanical Garden in Madrid. They will be able to control the blackbirds, robins, sparrows and great tits who live in this beautiful garden and the special relationship they have with it.

The Planetarium, ideal for astronomy fans
If your child loves staring at the stars, the classes at the Madrid Planetarium will meet all their expectations. Under the title of Little Astronomers 2.0, this workshop is designed for children between the ages of 6 and 8 and it gives them the opportunity of learning the names of all constellations as well as many curiosities of our galaxy and the universe which surrounds us.

With so many activities to enjoy Madrid with children, which one are you going to choose?
