Árticus, Madrid’s Christmas theme park
This Christmas, Madrid has its own little piece of the Arctic right in the city centre. More than 100,000 square metres of space in the Casa de Campo transformed into the capital’s most festive theme park. There are a wide range of activities on offer, including watching the Northern Lights on the Arctic Trail, strolling along the Great Arctic Highway under an impressive starry sky, enjoying the attractions of Církulus or skating on ice in the Diverhaus.
Other fun activities include the Peter Pan On Ice show and the Jurassic Park dinosaur exhibition. There are also different food areas such as the Food Village with food from all over the world, the Igloo IceBar, an igloo where you can enjoy the coolest drinks, and Mahoutown, an authentic beer town. There are also shops for Christmas shopping.
Discover The Origin of Christmas
This attraction, located in the Alfonso XIII Botanical Garden of the Complutense University of Madrid, is called ‘Spring of Dreams, the Origin of Christmas’, and is a magical kingdom where you can enjoy a unique Christmas experience. The park offers a variety of activities including an ice rink, a giant slide, a fairy walk and a chance to meet Santa Claus himself. There are also parades, workshops on recycled Christmas decorations for the little ones, live music and a food and drink area.
You can also enjoy various shows such as ‘Hontana, the awakening of Christmas’, a magical story for the whole family; ‘Fountains of the Source of Dreams’, a water, light and sound show; and the ‘Nativity of the Christmas Geyser’ to discover the beauty of nature.
