Enjoy a unique Father’s Day in Madrid

This year Father’s Day falls on a Sunday, which is perfect for a wonderful family day out. Madrid offers a wide range of leisure and culinary options to make the day as special as can be. 

Free Star Wars exhibition

For the next four months, the Force will be with the people of Madrid thanks to the exhibition ‘Star Wars Universe‘ which is on display at the Tomás y Valiente Art Centre in Fuenlabrada. The exhibition includes up to 150 life-size models of characters and sets from the films, including Han Solo, Yoda and Boba Fett. However, the most popular figure is that of Darth Maul, of which only a total of 25 were made.

As well as the exhibition, you can also enjoy a virtual reality space where you can become a young Padawan and learn how to use a lightsabre or attend Jedi school. The exhibition will be open to the public on Sunday 19 from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00.

Every weekend, the Thyssen Museum organises workshops for the whole family. This is a perfect way to celebrate Father’s Day. That weekend, for only 8 euros per person, you can enjoy the workshop ‘The title is mine‘, an activity for families with children over the age of 7 that combines literary creation with observing the museum’s works.
