Where to eat the best Chinese hot pot in Madrid
Asian cuisine is all the rage, and one of the dishes that has become the most popular in the last year is the hot pot, also known as Mongolian stew or Chinese fondue. In this post, we present our favourite restaurants where you can try the very best hot pots. Have you heard of this Chinese dish?

If you haven’t heard of it, you should know that a hot pot is a pot containing various different flavours of broth, usually chicken or vegetable, to which all sorts of ingredients are added, such as vegetables, meat, tofu or mushrooms. There is usually a touch of spice. If you are curious and want to try an authentic Chinese hot pot, you can do so in any of these restaurants.
Their hot pots are characterised by genuine flavours, fresh and healthy ingredients and a varied and innovative range of options. Of course, that’s what you’d expect from a restaurant whose motto is “flavours of the soul, quality with integrity”. One of their most famous soups is the tomato soup. They are also known for the quality of their meat and seafood. Apart from the food, you’ll also be attracted by the eye-catching decor and XL chopsticks. Xiaolongkan offers a unique dining experience that will transport you to China.
Located between Ópera and Callao, this restaurant claims to serve the best hot pot in Spain. It is run by Sichuanese chefs who are able to offer authentic Sichuan dishes. To enjoy their authentic hot pots, the first thing you need to do is choose the type of pot you want (the traditional Sichuan pot, which is very spicy, the meat pot, the meat pot with tomato or the special mushroom pot). The next step is to choose the sauce (our favourites are the very spicy sauce or the sesame and peanut sauce). And finally, accompany it with at least 3 or 4 dishes from their menu.
Other more traditional places
In the Usera neighbourhood, we find Mr DouLao, which also offers one of the best hot pots in Madrid, but with a twist: your pot is personalised. It also has another important feature: all the ingredients and sauces can be ordered by phone. Another place we really like is Joya Oriental, a restaurant on Calle Hermosilla that serves authentic Chinese cuisine. It is also one of the cheapest, with an average price of no more than 20 euros.
